Offers to UNSW are based on academic merit, however, some programs will have additional selection criteria with separate deadlines e.g. auditions, interviews and additional tests. To apply, you will need to provide copies of your qualification certificate, academic transcript, proof of citizenship and proof of English language proficiency.
Assessable qualifications can include:
1. Previous high school studies (not more than 5 years old)
2. The equivalent of at least one year of full-time tertiary study in a single degree (at least 0.75 of full-time study load)
3. A Certificate IV, Diploma or Advanced Diploma which must be completed, graded, and AQF-accredited. Competency-based certifications may be considered but not for highly competitive programs. You can find out more information here.
4. UNSW Diploma
5. UNSW Foundation Studies
6. UNSW Academic English Programs
7. Foundations programs from Group of Eight Universities.
Please view the Direct Entry Table as well as our Accepted Qualifications for further details on pathway options.
Please note that for entry into our Medicine, double degree Law programs, and the Bachelor of Vision Science/Master of Clinical Optometry, you will be assessed differently. You can refer to the Future Students website for more information.
You can lodge an application for Credit Transfer after you have accepted your offer to study with us at UNSW. Assessment is dependent on the similarity of the courses and the institution at which they were studied so there is no guarantee that credit will be awarded. We are also unable to pre-assess applications due to the constant changes of the courses at different institutions.
As part of the UNSW Recognition of Prior Learning policy, students may be offered credits for courses amounting to a maximum of 50% of their degree requirements. However, this will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. Credit can only be awarded for courses completed no more than 10 years prior.
